National Organic Program
Since 2003 Austria Bio Garantie has been accredited as the only Austrian organic inspection body according to the American organic standard NOP. The certification of products according to this standard permits an export to the US as well as to attach the label “organic product”. A reciprocal approval of the other’s standards (EC-organic regulation and NOP) is discussed, but still it is not foreseeable, whether this will ever happen.We have been gathering many positive impulses regarding the inspection and certification of this standard, which includes the entire production chain (primal agricultural production, applied utilities, as well as final processing).
